RISO SCOTTI is one of the main rice and cereal manufacturers and vendors in Italy.

Founded in 1860, they distribute their products to over 60 countries throughout the world and head up a group of high-tech companies specialising in the cultivation, experimentation, manufacturing processes and marketing of rice.

They also produce biscuits, sweet snacks and vegetal drinks from oats and soy.

This project had different objectives: increase their daily output of vegetal drinks, automate the process, make the best use of resources and produce a high quality product.

INOXPA presented an effective automation and comprehensive plant management proposal.

The equipment set up was designed to enable the customer to produce 12,000 litres/hour of drink, to reduce the amount of raw materials used and to save on energy costs.

Installation characteristics Installation characteristics

The line comprises 5 stations:

. Product preparation, mixing, and heating, with a flow rate of 9,000 litres/hour.
. Product storage using 6 x 10,000 litre tanks, with a pneumatic valve manifold to manage transfers to the tanks.
. Product cooling and recirculation, with a flow rate of 14,000 litres/hour.
. Product pasteurisation and filtration, with a flow rate of 6,000 litres/hour.
. Product dissolution and final cooling, with a flow rate of 12,000 litres/hour.

Some of the customer’s existing equipment was utilized in the 5 stations, including the homogeniser, the decanter, and some storage tanks.
